HUMAN RIGHTS CAN SOLVE WORLD CONFLICT, EUROPEAN HUMAN RIGHTS DIRECTOR TELLS BANGLADESH CONFERENCE
European Human Rights Director Martin Weightman today told the “All Religion Conference for Global Peace” at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka that human rights contain the solutions to the conflicts that the world faces today.
Other speakers at the conference, sponsored by the Institute of Hazrat Mohammad, included the Bangladesh Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Minister of Water Resources. The German, Italian, Russian and US Ambassadors to Bangladesh attended and messages of encouragement were read out from the President and Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
Mr. Weightman emphasized the role religious leaders play in bringing about world peace and urged political and human rights advocates to implement human rights programs as a long-term solution to inter-religious and ethnic conflicts.
